Lovely campground in the middle of a big forest. Only minutes from restaurants and shopping in a nice community. Pleasant, friendly, helpful staff. Clean, well heated showers/restrooms. We had a lovely, peaceful week here. I recommend site #6. By restrooms and entrance to trails.
Rob went above and beyond at 9pm on a Saturday to help us book a last minute cabin after our original camping plans fell though.

I humbly have changed my mind about my original review of this establishment. Initially I was very upset about some things with this campground and its night staff. The night beforehand's trouble, it seemed, was not directed at me, but I was caught in the crossfire of another situation unfolding at a different bunkhouse. However after a pleasant conversation with the lady on the overnight shift on the second night, she was actually very understanding and accommodating. Which is great because I do actually enjoy being here. Still a bit expensive, and I wish there were more amenities within the small cabin, but the convenience of it being so close to the Gaelic Park facility where I am working an event, is unbeatable. So I'm changing my review from 1 star to 4. Cheers 💙
Awesome time camping over the weekend. Our group was right by the pavilion so we had convenient access to electrical outlets, plenty of seating and it was lit at night. The bathroom was very clean and warm! We used the tents available for rental at the site and they were great. It was raining a few times over the weekend and I had no leaks or problems. I definitely plan to camp more 😊
Awesome place to camp, especially for tents and cabins!! The area exceeded my expectations as an environmental scientist that works in the area. They could control Multiflora Rose a little better (watch out for thorns), but the grounds are almost entirely walkable all over the woods. There are little native flowers growing, and the canopy is nice and open.
We camped there in late April and there was NO ONE around. We had the whole site to ourselves. Awesome trail, nice creeks, and wildlife even showed up to greet us!
My one complaint is that you might have issues staking in your tent where they intended for you to do it (there is concrete like 3 in below the dirt on the tent pads, so you cant stake in).
Great location 35 minutes from the city. The pricing is great. Spent the entire weekend here with 30 family members. Has exactly what you need. Nothing more, nothing less. Rock climbing included and fun. Staff took a little bit of time to warm up to us, they were not friendly from the start, but warmed up to us and were good.
Friendly and helpful staff, close to Chicago (32 min by car), clean, no loud party people. Site #2
This review would be five stars except there was no water when we arrived, none of the sinks were working in the bathrooms and the shared utility sink didn’t even have a faucet. When staff tried to help us get water from a locked utility room, an alarm was set off that called the fire department. Very exciting.
By the end of the next day the utility sink had a new faucet and was working great. Still no water in the bathroom sinks but the showers worked and were lovely.
